Responsibilities

Delivers exercise/cardiac stress programs as outlined by the Cardiovascular Care team. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct, Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology or related field or equivalent experience in a cardiac rehabilitation setting required.
  • Substantial knowledge of the use of equipment typically found in a Cardiac Rehab Department including but not limited to computer, exercise equipment (i.e., treadmills, bicycles), heart monitors, crash cart, treadmill testing, EKG interpretation and MET level conversion.
  • Current Health Provider BLS & ACLS.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience and training equivalent to those specified for an Exercise Test Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine preferred. Direct experience in exercise program planning, supervising and counseling with cardiovascular rehab patients in a cardiac rehab program highly preferred
  • Master's degree in rehabilitation exercise physiology or related field preferred.
