Responsibilities

Franciscan Medical Group (FMG), a part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health,  is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the management and daily operations of our medical clinics across multiple geographical locations within the Puget Sound region. This leadership position with have oversight of our Primary Care and Medical Specialties clinics within the St. Joseph/greater Tacoma footprint (includes clinic on Gravelly Lake and in University Place). 

 

This critical role will provide strategic leadership and expertise in optimizing financial performance, resource utilization, and patient/staff satisfaction across our diverse clinic network. The Regional Director will be responsible for driving program development, ensuring clinical quality, managing fiscal oversight, maintaining regulatory compliance, fostering strong provider relationships, and enhancing overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Operational Excellence: Lead and evaluate clinic operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality service delivery in accordance with organizational values and regulatory standards.
  • Strategic Planning & Growth: Develop and implement strategic plans, achieve annual objectives, and drive initiatives to improve clinic profitability, efficiency, and market competitiveness. Collaborate with senior leadership to implement new projects, programs, and acquisitions.
  • Financial Management: Direct budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring fiscal responsibility and recommending corrective actions for variances.
  • Performance & Quality Improvement: Champion initiatives that enhance clinical effectiveness, patient outcomes, cost containment, and patient safety. Identify and manage process improvement projects from conception to completion.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of subordinate clinic managers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Manage staffing levels, employee performance, and professional development.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with all internal/external legal and regulatory standards, monitoring effectiveness of current practices.
  • Business Development: Cultivate professional relationships to foster revenue enhancement opportunities and manage operational aspects of clinic acquisitions and closures.

The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of healthcare management principles, with a proven ability to identify and implement strategies that drive organizational performance, improve service delivery, and enhance overall patient care.

Qualifications

Education/Work Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or other related discipline, and seven years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, including five years of leadership/management experience.

Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
