Responsibilities

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center philosophy, the RN Surgical Services PACU is an experienced practitioner who demonstrates in-depth knowledge of nursing, patient care and the ability to practice independently at MRMC and applicable entities. The RN PACU provides comprehensive and compassionate care to surgical patients from pre-admission (SDCC/SHU) through immediate post-anesthesia recovery (PACU). This dynamic role involves conducting thorough pre-operative assessments, educating patients and families, ensuring surgical readiness, and expertly managing immediate post-operative care by continuously monitoring vital signs, managing pain, addressing potential complications, and facilitating safe discharge, all while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • Acute care experience within the last two (2) years.
  • Critical Care experience required.
  • Current California Registered Nurse license.
  • Current CPR certification AHA - BLS -- within 30 days
  • ACLS -- within 30 days
  • PALS -- within 30 days

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialty certification highly preferred; CPAN, CAPA, CCRN, etc.
  • BSN preferred.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
