Responsibilities

CT Technologist Lead

 

As our CT Technologist lead at The Woodlands,  you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions. 

 

Every day you’ll create cross-section images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience. 

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

 

Operates diagnostic equipment and performs a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to CT. Provides patient orientation, procedure explanation, and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests inclusive of positioning patient, calibration of equipment, and documentation of findings, with the direction of the imaging supervisor/manager. Assists patients with basic patient care needs.

  • Supervisory and leadership skills needed to mentor other technologists.
  • Knowledge of proper use and maintenance of CT equipment, CT examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents
  • Manage patients during complex CT procedures exams such biopsies, drainages, etc.
  • Practice ALARA (As low as reasonably achievable) standards when performing exams.  
  • Patient transfer and positioning techniques

Qualifications

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R)(CT
    Certified by the state of Texas - MRT
    CPR/BLS certification
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • One (1) year of experience as a radiographer or one (1) year of radiography clinical rotation experience in a healthcare setting preferred
