Responsibilities

Performs complete pacemaker, ICD and ILR interrogations.  Evaluates operating parameter settings, battery life, lead  impedance, sensitivity, and threshold/voltage/pulse wave, and  rhythm abnormalities. Edits and forwards final test results to the  attending Physician for analysis and interpretation.  re-programs  and troubleshoots devices as needed.   Carries out duties, in  compliance with applicable laws and DHMF compliance  standards, which include inquiring about any uncertainties  regarding legal requirements and promptly reporting suspected  improprieties to DHMF's leadership.  Protects patient privacy in  accordance with HIPAA privacy/security regulations, including  inquiring about any uncertainties and promptly reporting  suspected improprieties to the Clinic and/or DHMF Leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years relevant experience and/or applicable education
  • Proficient in electrocardiogram interpretation including complex arrhythmias.
  • Ability to recognize and appropriately treat cardiac device problems under the supervision of the cardiologist.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot all cardiac device programmers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EKG Certificate preferred.

  • Certification, or accredited training courses for Pacemaker setting changes strongly preferred.

  • 3 or more years experience in Cardiology department preferred.

  • Experience with cardiac devices strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of implantable cardiac devices and cardiac arrhythmias preferred.
