The Surgical Patient Care Associate is a multi-skilled staff member who support team members under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
1. Applies principles of infection control in the OR using proper standards to clean ORs.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of exposure control policies in preparation and transport of bio hazardous materials.
3. Applies knowledge of correct surgical attire.
4. Assists OR staff with safe transfer and positioning of patients.
5. Delivers specimens, linen, supplies, messages, etc to the appropriate location.
6. Assists with obtaining or returning equipment to its proper location.
7. Dons sterile gloves to assist in limb holding during surgical skin asepsi
