As a COTA with us, you'll be an invaluable part of this mission, working directly alongside our Registered Occupational Therapists to provide crucial therapy services and help our patients achieve their goals.

 

 

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing planned occupational therapy interventions: Accurately and effectively carrying out therapeutic activities and programs as outlined and delegated by the supervising Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Adhering to established standards of care: Ensuring all services are delivered in a manner consistent with best practices and professional guidelines for occupational therapy.
  • Providing direct patient care: Assisting patients with a variety of therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and adaptive techniques to improve their independence and quality of life.
  • Documenting patient progress: Maintaining accurate and timely records of patient responses to interventions, under the direction of the Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Collaborating with the Registered Occupational Therapist: Actively participating in discussions regarding patient progress, treatment modifications, and overall care planning.
  • Ensuring patient safety and comfort: Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all patients during therapy sessions.
  • Educating patients and caregivers: Providing instruction and support regarding the therapeutic process and home exercise programs as delegated.
  • Participating in team meetings: Contributing to interdisciplinary discussions to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Maintaining professional development: Staying current with best practices and advancements in occupational therapy under the guidance of the Registered Occupational Therapist.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an occupational therapy curriculum program accredted by the American Occupational Therapy Assication (AOTA). 
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification and an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in North Dakota (OTA, ND).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • One (1) year of work experience as a COTA.
