Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

As our Manager Stroke Program you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing services and activities related to the Stroke Services Program at California Hospital Medical Center. You will function as a liaison between physicians, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, patients and their families to coordinate and facilitate the care of our stroke patients throughout the continuum, and ensure the clinical care evidence-based guidelines are followed as appropriate. You will also participate in program development, staff and physician education, community education, marketing, planning, developing and implementing Stroke Center initiatives including quality, safety, service and efficiency strategies into the plans policies, and organizational processes that affect the Stroke Center’s operation, strategic direction, and certification.
 
California Hospital Medical Center is designated as a primary stroke center, and has earned the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission that means we meet national standards for quality and patient safety in stroke care. We earned the highest possible honors from The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association, including Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus and Target: Stroke Honor Roll awards.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
  • Graduate of an accredited RN school of Nursing required.
  • Minimum of two years nursing experience, including care of stroke patients, required.
Required Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required,
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Fire Safety Card required within 90 days from start date.

Required Special Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Workspace and Internet required.
