Our specialized team at CHI Health Good Samaritan Cancer Center is focused on providing clinical excellence in a healing environment and offers: infusion therapy, radiation therapy, a genetic counselor, a tobacco cessation counselor, nurses, patient navigators, outreach coordinators, an educational library, support groups, a healing garden, educational seminars, and a wide range of clinical trials.
Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
This nurse position is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients undergoing, non-chemo & chemo infusions and injections, insertion of mid-lines and peripherally inserted central catheters. Applies knowledge of current treatment modalities to patient care. Administers infusions/injections, testing and line insertions according to institutional policy, standards, and guidelines. Answers phones, schedules patients, maintains patient experience, and upholds core values and mission. Provides patients and families with emotional support, information and guidance during treatment. Educate patients and families in areas of health and illness that maintain optimum levels of physical and emotional functioning.
