The Surgical Tech assists physicians and nurses during surgical procedures and in preparation for surgery in order to deliver safe competent care to our patients. Responsible for maintaining the sterile field being constantly vigilant that the scrubbed members of the team adhere to aseptic/sterile technique. Assembles and processes sterile instrument trays and equipment. Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the Surgeon. Provides procedural circulating support. Performs instrument sponge and equipment counts. Identifies and responds to advanced clinical issues as well as serves as a resource to other staff
Responsibilities
Minimum of four (4) years clinicalexperience as a surgical technologist
Surgical Tech Program Graduatepreferred
Preferred - Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program and certifiedas a surgical technologist
CT - ORT andfour (4) years clinical experience
