Responsibilities

This is a remote position supporting the CommonSpirit Enterprise with up to 50% travel.

 

The System Director, Epic Gold Application role is a Provider who is responsible for the planning and implementation of information systems across all care settings to ensure alignment with CommonSpirit Health strategic plans, in support of the Chief Medical Office, and in partnership with Informatics Technology and Clinical Informatics leaders. This role will champion and provide leadership for the implementation, advancement and optimization of all IT related clinical systems in the appropriate clinical setting(s), including the Electronic Health Record  (EHR) as CommonSpirit Health evolves in providing evidence based care leveraging predictive analytics, population health  management and next generation patient/customer engagement.
 

Essential Functions

  • Clinical Enterprise Informatics Strategy:  
    • Develops and leads ongoing strategy to support clinicians in improving the care of and health and well-being of patients by ensuring current, evidence based practice in EHR content.  
    • Serves as the principal advisor to the CMIO, CNIO and other IT staff with regard to clinician issues and the impact of medical  information technology on medical practices at affiliated organizations.
  • EHR Implementation:
    • Develop and implement procedures and standards for EHR implementation from a clinical and operational accountability lens.  
  • Operational Readiness:
    • Direct change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions in EHR implementations, preparing clinical and operational teams to maximize EHR workflows and new tools.  
    • Provides responsive service based on user needs, including training, to assure widespread acceptance and provider use of  hospital informatics systems.
  • Provider Builder Program and User Experience:  
    • Develop a User Experience focused Provider Builder Program to maximize Epic tools such as problem focused treatment recommendations, documentation improvement with smart tools and design of clinical decision support tools.
  • Provider Training:  
    • Provides clinical leadership to provider training, education and support in the use of the EHR.  
    • Develops and oversees implementation of HealthIT solutions for ambulatory, acute care, ancillary services, and nontraditional services such as Telehealth, care coordination and patient engagement.
  • Informatics Team Leadership:  
    • Responsible for daily oversight and leadership of medical informatics, integration and optimization.
  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight:
    • Uphold adherence to stringent regulatory requirements and safeguard data privacy and security protocols within the realm of EHR operations.
    • Develop and implement robust compliance frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education

  • Doctor Of Medicine, Doctor Of Osteopathy, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant licensure
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical practice and 7 years of Health IT leadership experience.
  • Board Certification/Licensure in clinical specialty or informatics
