Under the direction of the team lead or nurse, collaborates with co-workers on a daily basis to help ensure uniform standards of care and is responsible for performing duties for assigned nursing unit or outpatient clinic. Demonstrates competency in the care and/or service to our patients/customers. Performs and prioritizes assigned duties and procedures in accordance with established methods and techniques as defined by policy. Responsible for performing clerical duties and maintaining customer records.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills and customer service. Answers and responds to telephone calls promptly and courteously. Will interact with Wound Care leadership to ensure the ongoing communication between Wound Care and all hospital departments. |
Observes and reports changes in patient status to appropriate nurse or physician in a timely manner. Promptly responds to patient needs in a courteous manner. |
Provides patient care as delegated by nurse or attending physician. Gives basic bedside nursing care. Reapplies and removes restraints as directed by nurse. Assists patient with ambulation and transfer to/from wheelchair, stretcher and/or bed, using proper body mechanics. Transports patients to rooms, and other departments. |
Set up room for procedures as directed by nurse or physician in the outpatient clinic and in-patient facility. Ensures all patient care rooms are stocked with all required supplies prior to patient arrival. Restocks patient care rooms promptly after patient leaves the clinic. Communicates any supply shortage to nursing staff or department leadership. |
Performs patient's accuchecks including quality control checks. Obtains patient vital signs in the outpatient clinic or as directed by leadership, nursing staff or physician. |
Documents patient care correctly in EHR. Assembles charts for new admissions and enters work orders into hospital system as needed. Enters in NPWT orders correctly. Updates board information correctly on patient status. Coordinate patient care between departments as delegated by nurse. |
Orients new personnel as assigned. |
Attend a minimum of six unit meetings a year, assuming responsibility for understanding and acknowledging minutes of unit meetings missed. Attends all required in-services and completes annual competencies. |
Maintains a patient and work environment to maximize safe/clean working space. Reports all hazards to department leadership. Disinfects machines after each patient use; places soiled linens in hamper. Maintains an adequate supply of towels/linens in clinic. Adheres to proper precautions, techniques and safety measures according to Infection Control Policies. Works with, cleans up and disposes of bodily fluids, blood and secretion appropriately. Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, clinical areas, waiting and lobby areas, and lounge using established safety procedures to ensure patient and staff safety. Cleans and disinfects exam rooms after each patient use according to hospital policy. |
Demonstrates stewardship of equipment and supplies by using them appropriately, including use of PAR excellence system. Maintain adequate supply of items in supply room and restocks supplies daily or as needed. Makes sure all charts and rooms are fully stocked for clinic and hospital use. Orders supplies from warehouse as needed and documents arrival or supplies or missing items in a timely manner. Communicates any delays in supply deliveries to department leadership. |
As needed may perform duties of Hyperbaric Attendant: • Requires clear chest xray with no evidence of space occupying lesions, non-asthmatic. Able to tolerate tight working conditions or environments. ◦ Responsible for assisting patients during clinical operations of the hyperbaric oxygen chamber. ◦ Demonstrates an ability to respond to high acuity situations and changing workloads in the care of patients. ◦ Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting hyperbaric chamber and equipment after each treatment. ◦ Responsible for taking patient vitals and glucose testing of patients. ◦ Responsible for assisting patients during clinical operations of the hyperbaric chamber. ◦ Demonstrates an ability to respond to high acuity situations and changing workloads, especially environments, and has the ability to participate in direct patient care in hyperbaric oxygen environment including the ability to work in the chamber during HBOT treatments |
