Responsibilities

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center philosophy, the Unit Clerk / Scheduler provides clerical support to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Marian Regional Medical Center and applicable entities. Serves as communication center by answering telephone and initiating calls.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a unit clerk training course or equivalent experience in an on-the-job orientation.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic medical terminology, clerical practices, and procedures.

  • Exhibits caring behaviors through a positive and cheerful attitude toward guests and coworkers, maintaining courteous telephone manners.

  • Possesses the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.

  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language accurately and legibly.

  • Demonstrates the ability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions precisely.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of medical records.

  • Remains calm and efficient in emergency situations.

  • Proficient in operating common office equipment, including CRT.

  • Adheres to the established dress code.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six (6) months recent acute care experience as a unit clerk preferred.
