Education and Experience:
Recent executive finance leadership in a large, high-acuity teaching hospital (ideally ≥500 beds; tertiary/quaternary).
Proven full hospital P&L ownership with regular board/finance committee presentations.
Revenue Cycle Management experience
Hands-on academic finance: GME budgeting and IME/DGME reimbursement (FTE caps, affiliations) and research/clinical-trials billing oversight (coverage analysis/compliance).
Demonstrated capital governance: led >$10M clinical investments (neuro/transplant/oncology preferred) from pro forma to realized ROI; strong throughput/capacity modeling.
Ability to operate in a capacity-constrained, capital-limited environment and prioritize for impact.
Exceptional stakeholdering with physician/institute leaders (e.g., Barrow-type partnerships), market leadership, Foundation, and external partners (university/elected officials).
Experienced change leader who can take finance from “reporting” to decision-enabling (forecast discipline, operator dashboards, close optimization).
Comfort engaging around labor relations/union dynamics while sustaining mission, quality, and performance.
Strong command of cost accounting/decision support and analytics; familiarity with EHR/ERP and finance tools (e.g., Epic/Cerner, Axiom/Kaufman Hall, ActionOI; research CTMS like OnCore/Velos a plus).
Knowledge of Arizona payer environment (AHCCCS APR-DRG) or ability to ramp quickly.
