Responsibilities

About This Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center philosophy, the Interventional Cardiology Registered Nurse
is an experienced practitioner who demonstrates in-depth knowledge of nursing, patient care and the
ability to practice independently. Also serves as a resource person as well as a preceptor. Under
minimal supervision, the identifies and implements nursing interventions that have less predictable
outcomes and evaluate the results of these interventions for a given patient population

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current or within previous 2 years, work experience in Critical Care (CCU) primarily in Cardiovascular specialty, Emergency Department (ED), or cardiac catheterization services department or interventional radiology department. Exceptions made in case by case basis.
  • Current Unencumbered California RN State License.
  • Current Associates Degree in Nursing from an Accredited Program
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
  • Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or completion of ACLS course within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Angiographic and/or scrub experience desired with CCL, Electrophysiology Lab (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) experience.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN),
  • American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) CCRNTM certification.
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) certification (and/or) CCI Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification.
