Job Summary and Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, the Registered Echo Tech performs diagnostic medical sonographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision to technical detail, performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative and assumes responsibility for specific diagnostic Echocardiographic procedures as required.

 

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current CPR certification
  • registered with ARDMS
  • experience in all phases of Echocardiography, including Echocardiography, TEE, ZD Doppler and stress Echoprocedures
  • current with continuing education units required by the licensing board of American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

 

Special Skills:

  • Well versed in both general and vascular anatomy, as well as physiology.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of (must be familiar with) all Echocardiography procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with patients, staff and physicians.
  • Work independently and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment.
  • Self motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
