Bakersfield Memorial Hospital includes 385 general acute beds, 48 licensed critical care beds, 13 state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a full-service Emergency Department with an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Nationally Certified Stroke Center. • Manages the daily operations of the Respiratory Care Department to ensure compliance to all standards of practice and licensing/regulatory requirements. Develops and implements strategies in operational improvements and/or new services that are consistent with organizational strategic and business development planning.
• Manages existing programs, as well as program development, implementation of new respiratory programs and assessment/revision of existing programs in keeping with a changing health care environment.
• Plans, organizes, and supervises the daily activities of the Respiratory Department , including volunteers and respiratory therapy students, to ensure consistency with standards of practice; licensing/regulatory standards; department policies; and service needs of the facility.
• Prepares the annual department budget and ensures compliance to operational expectations and productivity standards.

Education and Experience:

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in related field. Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience.

Licensure:

• License as a Respiratory Therapist
