The Emergency Management (EM) Coordinator is responsible for facilitating, leading and managing the CHI Saint Joseph Health Kentucky Market Emergency Management Program. The EM Program must be cohesive across the CHI Saint Joseph Health Market while fulfilling all the regulatory requirements and accurately capture how the program is structured, implemented, maintained and caregivers are trained to the program expectations. This involves significant facilitation, problem solving & resolution while still managing the planning process by bringing together the numerous clinical & non-clinical entities with different ideologies and backgrounds to assure the EM program is accurate & complete. This will require the mentoring & education of EM Program participants to facilitate personal growth and a new understanding of an effective emergency management program so they are able to positively contribute to the programs success. Developing a cohesive Market wide Emergency Management Program will encompass the following leadership & management skills and actions; leading and managing the planning process, production & development of an actual complete documented EM Program set of documents, and finally the distribution of an entire disaster preparedness program and its’ associated materials to the appropriate Caregivers, volunteers, and physicians with the intent of offering a means of educating them on how they may prepare for and protect our patients, visitors and themselves better from a catastrophic event. The EM Coordinator will serve as a liaison (Be one of the faces for CHI Saint Joseph Health EM Program ) with external emergency service agencies and healthcare coalitions in the dozen plus counties that CHI Saint Joseph Health serves from the emergency management perspective. The EM Coordinator will lead and manage various intensives and projects to correct issues and improve performance and regulatory compliance as assigned where emergency management knowledge is critical and required.
