Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Medical Director, the Department Manager, and Supervisor, the Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for providing respiratory care services to pediatric, adult and geriatric critical care patients for St. Rose Dominican Hospital.

  • These services will be delivered in accordance with specific physician orders and department policies and procedures.
  • RCP critical care providers will be required to work a minimum of 80% of scheduled shifts in critical care.
  • Outstanding clinical, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Technical/Vocational; Completed all accredited education requirements to be in possession of a valid license in good standing issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care or its successor organization enabling them to practice as a Respiratory Care Professional.
  • Existing employees with >20 years of experience as CRT will be grandfathered.
  • Six (6) months critical care experience required with competency assessment.
  • RG RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • LIC BGT = Licensed Blood Gas Technologist; LIC BGT or LIC GS
  • CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
  • CT CPRACLS = Advanced Cardiac Life Support CPR.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Preferred:

  • Two years or more of recent critical care experience preferred.
  • CT NRP = Neonatal Resuscitation
  • CT CPRPALS = Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
