Job Summary and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Supervisor, is responsible for receiving and processing specimens. May assume duties of a Lab Assistant. 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

  • CA Phlebotomy Technician 1 and BLS required. 
  • Two years acute care hospital experience in phlebotomy and specimen accessioning. 
  • Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications. 
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology. 
  • General typing/computer skills. Detailed oriented Self-starter. 
  • Must have good attendance and no disciplinary issues. 
  • Must have the ability to work well with others. 

Preferred skills: 

  • CA Phlebotomy Technician 2 preferred 

 

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
