Job Summary and Responsibilities

St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center’s Endoscopy Unit is committed to the highest level of patient satisfaction. The unit features the most up-to-date endoscopic technologies, and we provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients of all ages. Our GI and pulmonary lab with four endoscopy suites and a Heartburn Center provide our patients with a full spectrum of services.

 

As our Endoscopy nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center you will prepare patients for endoscopy and assist to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable. 

 

Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, make sure the equipment is ready to go, and update family members on the  status during the procedure. 

 

To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Develop and implement nursing care plan for patients
  • Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients

Job Requirements

Minimum:  

  • Current AZ State RN License or RN License from a compact state
  • American Heart Association
    • BLS
    • ACLS

Preferred:  

  • One (1) year recent acute care experience
  • Bachelors of Nursing Degree
