Pathologists' Assistant

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is a 336 bed non-profit facility providing quality health care to patients and communities in and around Seattle Washington. This position performs preparation, gross description and dissection of simple and complex human specimens for histological processing and subsequent diagnosis. Obtains biological specimens for additional testing/studies. Performs special procedures including Faxitron imaging and tumor triaging. Assists with frozen sections and operating room consults. Frontline person between Pathologists and Surgeons/Clinicians. This position also reviews medical chart with Pathologist. Performs postmortem examination and prosection.

We Require

• This position requires that the applicant be PA (ASCP) BOR certified and/or a graduate of NAACLS accredited Pathologists Assistant training program and eligible to sit for the exam. Certification must be obtained within 1 year of start date.
