Job Summary and Responsibilities

Assess patient/family health problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing care. Provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations via the mobile stroke program. Position requires providing service to one or more age groups including young adults through geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. Position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee will support the organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the hospital wide performance improvement plan.

Registered Nurses (RNs) at our Arizona General Hospital provide compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes. They assess patient conditions, develop individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor progress, and educate patients and families. RNs play a crucial role in promoting health, preventing illness, and supporting patients through complex medical procedures. They are committed to maintaining high standards of care, adhering to hospital policies, and ensuring patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.

 

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner
  • Documents the nursing care plan and incorporates the nursing process following the standard of care for patient care area
  • Documents changes in patient condition and response to interventions within established timeframes
  • Connects with and establish relationships with the patient and their family/caregivers using therapeutic communication skills
  • Involves the patient and family/caregiver in desired outcomes in formulating the plan of care
  • Identifies and make suggestions for new and innovative ways to improve practice and process for how to deliver care

Job Requirements

Minimum:

 

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Basic Computer Skills Advanced Cardiac Life Support (in monitored areas).

AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.

American Heart Association BLS Certification.

ACLS certification (in monitored areas).

Professional certification in area of specialty preferred Pediatric Life support (PALs) obtained within 90 days of hire.

Two years recent ED experience.
