Surgery Scheduler

Position Summary: 

Participates as a member of the health care team as the Scheduler for the OR, Cath Lab and GI. To accurately data enter all procedures scheduled in for OR/ GI/Cath Lab ensuring correct patient data, procedure, and any additional information that would require specialized equipment that may be required working with the physicians. 

• This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. 

Minimum: 

• Typing skills of 35 wpm.

• Recent working knowledge of computer systems, including Windows.

• High school diploma.  

• Formal Medical Terminology or a minimum of two (2) years related experience in scheduling medical/surgical procedures or operating room technician experience.

• Good communications skills, able to handle very stressful situations, ability to work independently, detail oriented.

 Preferred: 

• One (1) year data entry experience, preferred.
