In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center healthcare philosophy, the Certified Phlebotomist - Outpatient is responsible for greeting and accurately registering patients into the hospital/laboratory information systems. The incumbent is responsible for accurately obtaining, processing, and handling blood, urine, and culture specimens. Additionally, accurately collects, processes and ships specialized kit testing. Work is primarily in the outpatient area of the hospital or at a stand alone patient service center (draw station). The incumbent is required to rotate among thelaboratory outreach patient service centers including shift, holiday, and weekend rotation. Patients served may range in age from newborn to geriatric and work will be performed in accordance with established procedures of Marian Regional Medical Center Laboratory, CLSI standards, and State and Federal Regulations. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management following written notice.
