Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

The Emergency Department Float Pool Registered Nurse provides care to adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department and Psych Hold areas. Medical/clinical knowledge, technical and clinical skills, clinical judgment, interpersonal skills and communication as indicated in the current Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Hospitals are essential components of nursing practice. 

 

  • This position is represented by CNA and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Two (2) years’ experience as an RN in the Emergency Department. 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 

  • RN = Registered Nurse license from the State of NV Nursing Board.  

  • CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support – AHA

  • CT CPRACLS - Advanced Life Support – AHA  

  • CT CPRPALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support CPR (Required within 6 months of hire).

  • TNCC = Trauma Nurse Core Course (Required within 6 months of hire).

  • NIHSS = NIH Stroke-AM Stroke ASC-Nat'l-Training upon hire/transfer.

  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

 

Preferred:

  • Float Pool experience. 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing. 

  • Certification in Specialty Area.
