Job Summary and Responsibilities

Become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at St. Joseph Medical Center!

 

Are you passionate about providing compassionate care and making a real difference in patients' lives? As a CNA, you'll work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assisting with essential nursing care.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Personal Care: Helping patients with hygiene, physical comfort, feeding, bathing, and mobility.
  • Clinical Activities: Preparing for procedures, monitoring and documenting patient conditions, and collecting samples.
  • Patient Support: Assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and orienting patients and families.
  • Environment Maintenance: Keeping a tidy and organized workspace, managing supplies, and reporting equipment issues.
  • Safety & Quality: Adhering to safety standards, preventing infections, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrating cultural sensitivity and using effective communication tools to provide inclusive care.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program (or military medical specialty training). 

Six months related work experience preferred.

 

License & Certification

Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the Washington State Nursing Commission.

Current healthcare provider BLS certification
