Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary: 

 

  • Ensures the execution of robust and actionable community health needs assessments, implementation strategies, community benefit reports, and evaluation of impact by the hospitals and Dignity Health overall.
  • Helps to develop community health strategy, and identifies and implements specific evidence-informed initiatives on system-wide, regional and hospital levels.
  • Leads system-wide tracking and reporting of community benefit programs and expenses, by working with community health, finance, and other staff in the hospitals and system offices, and ensures compliance with state and federal mandates and Dignity Health policy.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with health, social service, and other community agencies and organizations, as well as state and national associations, to help fulfill Dignity Health's mission of service for those who are poor and disenfranchised and to improve quality of life.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Master's degree in health administration, public health, or related field, or a combination of education and/or additional extensive, job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in community benefit and community health work, hospital or health system and three (3) years of administrative/executive healthcare/public health leadership experience.
