Job Summary and Responsibilities

The incumbent sets up and operates specialized equipment to include: physiological data recording system, Exercise Stress test monitor and exercise testing equipment; Echocardiographic equipment to perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures and all procedures required by the EKG technician including scheduling of patient appointments, quality assurance data collection, typing and filing of patient records.

Job Requirements

  • BLS-CPR from American Heart Association.
  • Basic knowledge of cardiac and human body anatomy and physiology, interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and EKG procedures and equipment.
  • General filing procedures, electrical safety standards and aseptic technique.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standard echocardiographic windows in accordance with American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) criteria.
  • Echo procedures and equipment to include the ability to obtain satisfactory images in the following modes: M-mode, Two dimensional, Pulse Wave Doppler, Continuous Wave Doppler, Color Wave Doppler.

Preferred:

  • Completion of didactic and hands-on coursework in echocardiography through an approved learning institution.
