Job Summary and Responsibilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join our dynamic Nutrition Services team. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, skilled, and evidence-based practitioner responsible for providing comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to a diverse patient population within our acute care setting. This role is integral to patient recovery, disease management, and optimizing health outcomes through expert nutritional interventions and education.

 

  • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments, including review of medical history, lab values, anthropometrics, and dietary intake, to identify patients at nutritional risk.
  • Provide clear, concise, and evidence-based nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families, empowering them to make informed dietary choices for discharge and long-term health.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) care plans for adult and/or pediatric patients with various medical conditions (e.g., critical illness, diabetes, renal disease, CVD, oncology, GI disorders, surgical recovery).
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietetics program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics). 
  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
