Job Summary and Responsibilities

About This Position

In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the MDS Processor is an integral position for the achievement of institutional goals by ensuring the timely completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS). Coordinates an interdisciplinary approach for the implementation through completion of the Minimum Data Set. Major responsibilities are listed, however, at times the MDS Processor may be assigned other duties.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse: CA (RN:CA)
  • Recent experience in long-term care, medication and treatment administration, and the mandated OBRA regulated minimum Data Set, Resident Assessment Protocol summary and care planning process.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) within 30 days of employment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Communicates clearly, concisely, and accurately with people, verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various publics and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of the MDS and RAP protocols.
  • Demonstrates competency in physical/mental/psychosocial assessments.
  • A working knowledge of Medicare guidelines and managed-care guidelines is desired.
