Job Summary and Responsibilities

$15,000 - Sign On Bonus offered for new hires. Per policy, current employees are not eligible.

Employee Referral Eligible position.

 

This role involves real-time education, direct bedside coaching, comprehensive chart auditing, and continuous monitoring of nursing practice to ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Shift Manager acts as a clinical resource, mentor, and advocate for best practices, directly impacting nurse competency and patient experience across high-acuity environments. 

 

The successful candidate will have a solid background in Cardiac and Trauma ICU along with an interest in nurse education and work three (3) - 12 hour shifts from:1200-0030 each week.

 

The St. John Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is an 11-bed unit dedicated to providing exceptional and comprehensive care for critically ill surgical patients. Our unit specializes in a wide array of surgical disciplines, including Vascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and diverse General Surgery cases. We are committed to delivering the highest caliber of patient-centered care through a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.

 

Our highly skilled and compassionate team comprises experienced critical care nurses, intensivists, surgeons, and other allied health professionals who work seamlessly together to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This integrated team is focused on current evidence-based practices, ensuring that every patient receives the most effective and up-to-date treatment available.

Job Requirements

 
Education and Experience: 
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (e.g., ADN).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical (critical care) experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field
    • Completion of Bachelors in nursing (BSN) or related field within 3 years of hire
Licensure: 
  • Current CA RN licensure
  • Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association

 

Strongly Preferred: 

  • 5 years of clinical (critical care) experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Cardiac ICU experience
  • TNCC
  • TCAR
  • TCRN
  • CCRN
  • MSN
