Job Summary and Responsibilities

$15,000 sign-on bonus available

 

The Manager of Nursing, Critical Care is responsible for the resources and daily activities of our combined critical care units while ensuring environmental factors supporting high standards of patient care. Our combined ICU's have 28 beds and over 75 nurses.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the training and development of new and existing staff members
  • Creating and maintaining an environment that is conducive to learning transfer.
  • Coordinating the activities of the unit for each shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
  • Scheduling nursing staff to specific shifts, taking into account past utilization trends.
  • Measure employee performance.
  • Coordinates the activities of the unit during a particular shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff.
  • Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
    Provide patient care as needed.

 

This position reports to the Director, ED, Critical Care, Trauma Services

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of ICU nursing experience and one (1) year of  ICU leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent education and experience
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of ICU experience with experience in cardiac ICU
  • 1 year progressive leadership in a critical care setting 
  • MSN
  • TNCC
  • TCRN
  • CCRN
