Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our NICU Nurse at CHI Saint Joseph Health, you’ll care for our tiniest and most vulnerable patients with gentle, kind, compassionate care in a family friendly environment focusing on safety.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to appreciate that routine is never routine. We have wonderful days where we get to celebrate milestones and we also have hard days comforting parents as they grieve. As part of our care team, you are sensitive and understanding to different circumstances and above all, you remain calm in all situations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate patients on various interventions or procedures 
  • Assess infant and provide care
  • Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree (ADN) in Nursing from an accredited nursing college or program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license cleared by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or with eNLC multi-state practice privilege
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required to obtain within 3 months post hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous RN experience within Womens Care, Labor and Delivery, or NICU strongly preferred.
