Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is defined as a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families. Utilizing a holistic approach the RN provides a safe and confidential environment throughout the delivery of care. As a professional, the RN is responsible for providing team leadership and maintaining professional development.

 

Core Duties: 

  • Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs considering diagnosis, age, care setting, desire for care and response to care plan
  • Plan care, collaborating with other members of the healthcare team
  • Deliver competent care as required by patient, plan of care, and care setting
  • Evaluate patients' responses to care
  • Provide interactive patient and family education
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team
  • Document according to policy/procedure, standards, and guidelines
  • Participate in improving organizational performance

Job Requirements

Required qualifications

  • 1 (one) year experience as a PACU RN acute care surgical service setting (when staffing is experienced enough to support a trainee, applicants without the requisite experience may be considered).
  • Current California RN license
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certified through a recognized American Heart Association training center.
  • Must be able to read speak and write English in order to perform the duties of the position
