Job Summary and Responsibilities

Assists with the workflow within Imaging Services to support efficiency and excellent patient care

 

 

  • Checks department wheelchairs and oxygen tanks assuring they are mechanically sound; immediately reports
    equipment defects to supervisor.
  • Ensures correct identity of patient before escorting them to the waiting room or modality.
  • Assists technologist in getting the patient into the scan room and positioned on the scan table.
  • Performs point of care renal function screening.
  • Starts IV for IV contrast injection under the direction of the technologist.
  • Scans documentation into the EMR per the technologist direction.

Job Requirements

Minimum

 

High School Diploma/GED

Experience performing IV starts OR successful completion of an approved intravenous (IV) access training program OR current certification as an EMT- Paramedic OR successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic program.

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification 

Within six months of hire complete: Restraint Training, completion of Safe Patient Handling program, completion of Oxygen Training program, completion of Point of Care Renal Screening testing and complete Medical Terminology Course.

 

Preferred 

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred.
