The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital.
Chaplains provide compassionate, supportive quality care to patients, families, caregivers and staff. St. Luke's has the responsibility of treating those seeking care in a way that reverences human dignity. We are called to provide holistic care, an approach not limited to illness or ailment. Thus, we embrace the physical, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions of the human person. Spiritual care Has a full range of pastoral outreaches and responses, such as offering a listening presence, conducting spiritual assessments, and providing support in the face of powerlessness and pain from a new diagnosis, addressing grief and loss, as well as ensuring a ministry of prayer, ritual and sacraments.
Chaplains also exhibit an educational component to their roles, including consultation input as a member of an multidisciplinary team. The Chaplain will also work with the Pastoral Visitors and help coordinate their visits and duties within the hospital.
