Where You’ll Work

At CommonSpirit Mountain Region, we believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness. 

 

Beginning in October 2025, we will be a 15 bed labor deck, 18 bed postpartum unit, and a 7-9 bed level II NICU caring for 32 weeks and above, occasionally going down to 30 weeks. With our location right off I-25 we see all gestations and have the capability and resources to deliver, stabilize and transport. We also have 3 triage beds and 2 OR suites. We are doing around 100 deliveries a month and continuing to grow. With the addition of Kaiser we anticipate we will double our census and deliveries. Exciting times at St. Anthony North!

Responsible for the assessment and management of breastfeeding mothers and babies, particularly, those with problems or concerns. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of nursing processes and procedures concerning lactation patient and her infant. Supports training and support of new associates on breastfeeding techniques and standards of care;
serves as a subject matter expert to the units in their facility. Will need to demonstrate a developing knowledge and skills relevant to lactation and adult learning principles. Basic knowledge of Adult Learning Principles needed to plan, implement and present/facilitate education for clients and/or hospital staff. Experience demonstrating the competent assessment, treatment, and care of all ages, including, neonates.

 

 

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

 

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred; Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse, State of Employement required or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
  • BLS - American Heart Association required to work independently in clinical area (within 8 weeks of hire)
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consutlant (IBCLC) or Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), required.
  • 3 years nursing experience required.
  • Prior lactation training and/or certification prefered

Physical Requirements
Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
