The Surgery department at Mercy Regional Medical Center is a Level III operating room that treats spine, ortho, ENT, GYN patients, a few eye surgeries, some dental, plastics and a mix of general surgical procedures. We have seven ORs with two dedicated to outpatient cases and are strictly surgical for patients one year old and above. We provide care to the Four Corners region and see patients from all over, including occasional trauma. Our department is service oriented, and we care for one another so we all can have a great quality of life and a safe work environment. To be part of this team, individuals must have strong OR skills, be honest, punctual, reliable and have a sense that every day they put their best foot forward for their community and patients.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:

**Previous RN Experience required- 1 yr min**
Description of new to specialty orientation: Peri-op 101 is a comprehensive, blended educational program that is developed by AORN's expert perioperative nurse authors, and based on AORN's latest, evidence-based: Guidelines for Perioperative Practice. This program combines a standardized, evidence-based online curriculum and textbook readings with hands-on skills labs and a clinical practicum.
Length of orientation: This is a six-month paid training program with full benefits. combination of diadactic and clinical education.
Shift expectations: 8-10-hour shifts in length. 4-5 shifts per week during orientation.
Next Course start date:- 7/20/2026
Interviews: Interviews will take place the week of May 18-22
Nursing Skills Labs include: Sterile technique, Surgical count, Skin Antisepsis, Positioning, Medications and Solutions, Implants, Wound closure and classification, Specimens, Equipment, Documentation, Emergency response, Malignant Hyperthermia, Simulation Lab
Once the program is completed there is no need to reapply to a new position.

Day to Day duties:
9 OR Suites-1 dedicated labor and delivery suite. Labor Delivery attends C-Sections
Approx. 20-30+ cases per Day
Schedule: TBD with OR Manager
