Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsible for timely daily demographics and charge entry the clients charges in accordance with CHI St. Luke's Health billing standards and Reimbursement policy and procedures. The incumbent Is responsible for seeking resolution to problems relating to timely and efficient demographics/charge entry while ensuring excellent communication between the management while ensuring client satisfaction.

 

Essential Function

  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of the demographic and charge entry function compliant with Federal and State regulations and billing policy and procedures.
  • Ensures daily accurate balancing of charges posted.
  • Ensures timely daily resolution of any demographic and/or charges submitted lacking necessary information to allow entry Daily Prepares and maintains the Charge log per client ensuring all charge totals are listed accordingly and balanced.
  • Notifies Revenue Cycle IT Department and management of any system issues encountered.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with CHI Billing Reimbursement Policies and Procedures to maximize efficiency. Ensures compliance with appropriate industry regulations and State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients, medical staff, finances and cost effective health care delivery issues.
  • Maintains confidentiality of assigned logins and passwords to access clinical data sets.
  • Strives to achieve and maintain company Account Receivable Aging standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with peers while ensuring a strong cohesive team.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum two (2) years applicable medical CBO experience
