Job Summary and Responsibilities

This job is responsible for planning, overseeing and evaluating the daily operations of the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) Hospitalist Team which is engaged in the delivery of healthcare services to VMFH hospitals and the community. Work is primarily focused on administrative business operations, budget/financial administration, data analytics and facilitating compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. An incumbent is also focused on: 1) developing/implementing administrative procedures for Hospitalist Medicine; 2) overseeing patient/customer satisfaction processes; 3) monitoring and reporting of results on established financial metrics relating to provider compensation elements; and 4) supervising administrative support staff engaged in billing reconciliation, meeting coordination/documentation and related administrative support activities. Work also includes business planning activities, budget development and achievement of performance objectives.

 

Work requires a solid understanding of both the business and clinical side of physician practice administration as well as the delivery of inpatient and hospital services.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field.
  • Three years of related work experience in a healthcare environment.
  • An equivalent combination of additional qualifying experience and/or work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred: 

  • Three years of related work experience in a healthcare environment specifically in a hospital setting.
