Job Summary and Responsibilities

This position floats between Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. This role is PRN (Per Diem/As Needed).

  • The Patient Care Technician performs patient related care tasks, such as EKGs and blood glucose monitoring, obtaining and recording patient vital signs.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides direct patient care under supervision of Nurse.
  • Monitors and records daily intake and output and communicates patient needs and observed/reported changes in patient condition to supervising Nurse or Physician.
  • Assists Physician/Nurse with diagnostic tests, clinical procedures, and other tasks as requested.
  • Documents all interactions in patient's medical record.

Job Requirements

Minimum:

  • Completion of first block of nursing school 
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current American Heart Association BLS card
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology

 

Preferred:

  • Two (2) year acute care experience.
  • Previous experience with a patient care module or personal computer.
