Under the general direction of and upon physician referral, to provide and maintain quality patient care to a select group of patients by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Contribute to the safety and maintenance of current standards of cardiac rehabilitation practice, which include attention to appropriate patient selection, concurrent medical therapy, patient education, careful prescription of exercise intensity and electrocardiographic monitoring to ensure an optimal arena for lifestyle changes.
