CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Multi Modality Radiologic Technician, you will help radiologists provide and coordinate high-quality patient care in all areas of the Heart and Vascular Center so they can achieve accurate diagnoses and optimal patient outcomes, aligning with CHI St. Alexius Health's mission and philosophy. Every day you will perform a wide range of radiographic and CT procedures, ensuring technical precision and patient safety. You will be expected to obtain high-quality images, manage contrast administration, maintain imaging equipment, adhere to radiation safety protocols, and provide compassionate patient care. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong technical proficiency in radiographic and CT imaging, expert knowledge of patient positioning and radiation safety, excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration, and a meticulous attention to detail.



  • Imaging Procedure Execution & Quality Assurance: Obtains high-quality radiographs/CT images of various body parts using expert patient positioning and optimal equipment settings for the lowest radiation dose, assessing images for proper technique before submission to the Radiologist
  • Contrast Administration & Patient Prep: Starts IVs for contrast exams (collaborating with nursing), obtains patient consent for contrast procedures, possesses thorough knowledge of contrast material usage (including reactions and response protocols), and assists the Radiologist with necessary equipment and patient history
  • Patient Support & Care: Performs EKGs, assists Lab with phlebotomy, willingly transports patients, and routinely performs all technical aspects of patient care in a timely, safe, and professional manner
  • Operational & Administrative Tasks: Manages proper coding and charging for all procedures, places correct patient IDs and markers, schedules all patient exams, and properly releases all patient diagnostic exams
  • Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control: Maintains a clean, neat work area with proper disinfectants, performs quality control in the Radiology Department, conducts routine maintenance checks, and ensures QA adheres to state and federal accreditation standards
  • Team Collaboration & On-Call Duty: Shares on-call hours, weekends, and holidays with other technologists (with occasional trading for accommodation) and assists the Department Manager by gathering QA data and suggesting new indicators
