Job Summary and Responsibilities

8, 10, & 12 hour shifts available with incentive pay for working nights and weekends

The Registered Echocardiography Technologist performs non-invasive echocardiography procedures on adult patients, including TTE (with 3D and strain), Stress Echo, and assists with TEEs (including 3D).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Patient Care & Assessment: Identifying patients, verifying orders, obtaining medical history, performing clinical assessments, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Echo Procedures: Executing various echocardiographic exams like TTE, 3D, strain, contrast studies, stress echoes (treadmill/dobutamine), and assisting with TEEs.
  • Image Interpretation: Applying sonographic skills to identify and record anatomical and pathological images, differentiating normal from abnormal, and recognizing artifacts.
  • Workflow Management: Coordinating schedules, prioritizing STAT, discharge, and backlog studies, and maintaining a patient log for billing.
  • Quality & Reporting: Adhering to lab protocols (with flexibility for clinical necessity), accurately completing measurements and structured reports.
  • Equipment & Supplies: Maintaining ultrasound equipment and work areas, and stocking supplies.
  • Team Collaboration: Establishing good rapport with colleagues, assisting with training new staff, and communicating patient information to peers and physicians.
  • Safety & Communication: Observing and reporting changes in patient condition during testing, using equipment safely, and prioritizing workload efficiently.

Job Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent

Graduate within 3 months from an accredited ultrasound program.

AHA BLS

Credentials from ARDMS or CCI in echo Sonography, or become credentialed within one year from date of hire

Maintain 12 CME credits per year
