Job Summary and Responsibilities

Are you an expert HR professional with a passion for driving organizational success through people-centric strategies? CommonSpirit Health is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior HR Business Partner (Sr HRBP) to align human resources initiatives with critical business objectives across designated departments, facilities, markets, and/or divisions. In this pivotal role, you will serve as an evidence-based consultant, a trusted advisor, and a champion for our mission.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a strategic partner, the Sr HRBP will lead challenging and complex HR initiatives, working with larger and/or multiple facilities known for their complexity and scope. You will be instrumental in fostering a high-performance culture, driving employee engagement, and ensuring our HR practices support the overarching strategic goals of CommonSpirit Health.

 

EVERY DAY, YOU WILL:

  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as an evidence-based consultant to management on a wide range of Human Resources related issues, including but not limited to:
    • Employee Relations & Labor Relations
    • Performance Management & Talent Development
    • Training & Learning Initiatives
    • Policy Application & Compliance
    • Organizational Development & Effectiveness
    • Workforce Planning & Talent Strategy
    • ADA Interactive Process
    • Compensation Strategy & Equity
  • Proactive Needs Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments to anticipate HR-related needs within your respective client groups, making data-driven recommendations and developing strategic plans complete with clear goals and priorities.
  • Collaborative Partnership: Proactively communicate HR needs and strategic recommendations to the broader HR department, colleagues within the Centers of Expertise (CoE) (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development), and executive leadership.
  • Integrated Solutions & Change Agentry: Seek to develop integrated HR solutions across the organization. Serve as a dynamic change agent and champion for new HR initiatives and programs, ensuring successful adoption and implementation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Formulate strong partnerships across the entire HR team and CoE to deliver value-added services to management and employees that directly reflect the strategic business objectives of CommonSpirit Health.
  • Mentorship & Development: Potentially serve as a mentor and guide to junior HR staff, including HR Assistant(s), HR Coordinator(s), and HRBP(s), fostering their professional growth and expertise.
  • Project Leadership: Lead division-wide HR projects and initiatives, leveraging your expertise to drive successful outcomes.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL DEMONSTRATE:

  • Strategic Acumen: Ability to align HR strategies with business objectives and drive organizational outcomes.
  • Consultative Expertise: Proven track record as a trusted advisor to management, offering evidence-based solutions and recommendations.
  • Comprehensive HR Knowledge: Deep expertise across all key HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, compensation, and legal compliance (ADA, FMLA, labor laws).
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to conduct needs assessments, interpret data, and develop actionable plans.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: A highly collaborative approach, building strong relationships across HR and with client groups.
  • Change Leadership: Proven ability to lead and champion change, guiding organizations through transitions successfully.
  • Mentorship (Desired): Experience or strong desire to mentor and develop junior HR professionals.

Job Requirements

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3 years HR or leadership experience, OR Master's degree and relevant experience; equivalent education and/or experience through certifications, OR a minimum of 5 years HR or leadership
    experience in the discipline.
  • HR experience should encompass generalist experience involving a high level of complexity and score or at least 2 or more areas of specialty involving a high level of complexity and scope, e.g., compensation, benefits, employee/labor relations, talent acquisition, etc.
  • Demonstrated employee relations experience with a working knowledge of recruitment, training delivery, benefits and compensation, theory / administration.
