The Security Officer ensures that the healthcare enterprise reasonably safe and secure environment. Respond promptly to security emergencies within the hospital or other healthcare settings while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Is responsible for documenting all incidents and requests for assistance within the hospital reporting platform. Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned site. Preserves order and acts to enforce regulations and policies when assistance is requested by medical staff/employees. The security officer shall support CommonSpirit Health's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities. It is expected that the security officer will demonstrate behavior consistent with CommonSpirit Health core values and Humankindness.
Essential Functions include:
Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to right location.
Keeping the organization’s mission, vision and values at the forefront of all decision making and action.

Minimum:
Able to properly use assigned equipment and follow established policies and procedures
Completes ICS 100, 200, 700 training courses within 90 Days of hire
Familiar with the duties and responsibilities of being a security officer
Knowledgeable in the use of de-escalation techniques
Maintain all other required training/certifications thereafter while employed by CommonSpirit Health
Must be able to speak English, communicate clearly orally and in writing
