Job Summary and Responsibilities

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of others? Do you enjoy engaging with people and fostering a joyful environment? CHI Lisbon Health is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Aide to join our dedicated Recreational Therapy team!

 

As an Activities Aide at CHI Lisbon Health, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life for our patients of all ages. Under the direction and supervision of the Charge Nurse, you will assist in the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities, providing engaging experiences that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in Recreational Therapy: Facilitate and lead a variety of activities for patients, including but not limited to, crafts, games, music, exercises, and social events.
  • Patient Engagement: Encourage patient participation, adapt activities to individual needs and abilities, and foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Basic Nursing & Personal Care: Provide essential support to patients, which may include assisting with mobility, feeding, personal hygiene, and other basic care tasks as directed.
  • Maintain a Safe & Clean Environment: Ensure activity areas are clean, organized, and safe for all patients, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  • Documentation: Assist with basic documentation related to patient participation and activity observations as required.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Recreational Therapist, Charge Nurse, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor with patients, families, and staff at all times.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The ability to evaluate patient’s status, prioritize, organize own workload.
  • The ability to deal tactfully with all internal and external customers.
  • The ability to be flexible and work harmoniously with co-workers, patient’s and families.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
