Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Vice President of Operations for Dignity Health Medical Foundation is responsible for the development and execution of the operational strategy to maximize the performance of assigned areas. These responsibilities include but is not limited to; communicating, directing, planning, organizing, financial/operational monitoring and integration operations to facilitate the delivery of cost effective, high quality healthcare serves in an ever-changing environment. The Vice President, Operations will provide the leadership and direction for assigned areas.

 

This position will partner with leaders throughout Dignity Health to drive initiatives, programs and services to enable the organization to deliver on its mission, strategies, and goals. As a member of Dignity Health Medical Foundation's senior leadership team, the Vice President, Operations will exhibit and promote the mission and values of Dignity Health.

Job Requirements

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Ensures all elements of the strategic plan are aligned and executed within assigned operational areas.

  • Participates in the development of overall organizational strategy and ensures execution of strategic priorities.

  • Establishes short- and long-range operational, organizational, and financial plans that support the mission, vision, values, and goals.

  • Ensures assigned areas are aligned with market growth opportunities.

  • Leads and drives operational improvements in patient experience, physician and staff engagement, revenue growth, and cost optimization.

  • Ensures consistency of operations and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Maintains responsibility for fostering positive physician relationships.

  • Functions as a key liaison with hospital leadership.

  • Works collaboratively across departments to support strategic initiatives and improve system integration.

  • Shares, adopts, and spreads best practices across the organization.

Resource & Performance Management

  • Ensures high-quality, satisfying, and affordable care through effective utilization of human, financial, technical, and physical resources.

  • Develops and maintains a management approach to track, monitor, communicate, and achieve established goals and targets.

  • Provides regular performance updates and implements corrective strategies as needed.

  • Organizes functions with clear accountabilities, decision rights, and appropriate delegation without creating silos.

  • Ensures a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.

Leadership, Culture & Communication

  • Develops, inspires, and maintains a high-performing, well-respected team through effective selection, coaching, evaluation, and performance management.

  • Cultivates an empowering, adaptable environment that supports learning, innovation, and organizational agility.

  • Maintains professional affiliations to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

  • Ensures a comprehensive and effective communication strategy that promotes understanding of vision, strategy, and accountabilities.

  • Promotes a culture of two-way communication and encourages physician and staff participation.
