Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Technical Coordinator, you will be responsible for the technical and scientific management of one or more laboratory sections, ensuring compliance and quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Personnel Management: Training, coaching, and evaluating lab staff competency, ensuring adherence to policies and ethics. Identifying training needs and providing regular in-service education.
  • Operational Oversight: Managing daily lab operations, making critical decisions, and overseeing inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Quality Assurance: Selecting appropriate test methodologies, verifying procedures, establishing performance characteristics (precision, accuracy), and administering a robust quality control program. Ensuring remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate and that patient results are accurate.
  • Technical Expertise: Assisting with and resolving technical problems. Qualifying and functioning as a CLIA-defined Technical Consultant.

This role ensures the lab maintains high standards for testing, reporting, and staff proficiency, ultimately delivering reliable results.

Job Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA.

2 years clinical lab experience in the designed lab area/speciality
